Reporting a bug
Four things make a bug fixable on the first reply rather than the third:
- your macOS version, from the Apple menu > About This Mac;
- the Keepr version, from Settings > About;
- what you did, and what happened instead of what you expected;
- a screenshot, if it is something you can see.
Please do not send us the contents of your Keepr library. We do not need it, and it holds everything you have copied.
Common questions
Something I copied did not appear in my history
Usually one of four reasons, all of them adjustable in Settings > Privacy. Monitoring may be paused; check the menu bar icon. The app you copied from may be on the excluded list, which includes password managers by default. The content may have been marked as concealed by the app that put it on the clipboard. Or it may have been skipped by the credential-detection filter, which errs on the side of not recording things shaped like tokens and passwords. Each filter can be switched off individually.
Where is my data, and can I read it myself?
In ~/Library/Application Support/Keepr. Items, folders and
settings are plain JSON and images are PNG files, so you can open all of it
yourself. Settings has a button that reveals the folder in the Finder.
Nothing is uploaded anywhere — see the
privacy policy.
My history keeps getting shorter than I want
Two settings control this. Settings > Privacy has a cap on how many clipboard items are kept at once, and Settings > Automatic deletion removes items older than a day, a week or a month. New installations delete after a week. Pinned and favourite items are exempt from both, so pin anything you want to keep indefinitely.
Reminders are not appearing as system notifications
macOS refuses notification permission to apps that are not properly signed, including locally built copies, and it does so without ever showing a prompt. Keepr falls back to its own in-app alert, which needs no permission. If you installed from the App Store and still see no system notifications, check System Settings > Notifications > Keepr, then write to us.
A keyboard shortcut does nothing
macOS gives a global shortcut to whichever app claims it first, so another app may already hold it. Settings > Shortcuts flags rows that the system refused rather than letting them fail silently. Pick a different combination there.
How do I cancel Keepr Pro?
Open System Settings, click your Apple Account, choose Media & Purchases, then Subscriptions, and turn off renewal for Keepr Pro. You keep Pro features until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. The full terms are on the terms of use page.
I bought Pro but the app still shows the free version
Use Restore Purchase in Settings > Keepr Pro, and make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still does not restore, email us with the date of purchase and we will help.
Does Keepr work on Intel Macs?
Yes. Keepr needs macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
How do I delete everything Keepr has stored?
Settings > Erase data has two options: clear clipboard history, which
keeps your tasks, screenshots, pinned and favourite items, or delete
everything. You can also drag
~/Library/Application Support/Keepr to the Trash. Remember that
your own Time Machine or other backups may still hold a copy.
Feature requests
Welcome, and genuinely read. Cloud sync, accounts and collaboration are deliberately out of scope — the app's whole design rests on there being no server — but anything else is worth asking about. Send it to support@lsfrstudio.com.
